Got me there...but you have to take into account that english is not our native language, and we've originally become misled by english or american users in this error!
I'd love some variety in rims, but they take so little time to make, that I would not pay for them. You can't really compare skins and rims. Skins take bandwith, rims don't (that is supposing Eric would model 4-5 additional rim models implemented in lfs).
I like the idea very much. How many people have already joined? I would prefer working my way up the ladder and not down, that's why I'm waiting for more people
I love reverse start order, as long as the server is good and clean. On some others, just breaking through the ''noob'' pack to race with the same level as you in front can take as many as 3-4 races, full of crashes, and dodging the guys behind you that have taken you as a target in the braking zone. So I don't think having to do that every race is a good idea.
If you wondered if some servers tend to concentrate better quality drivers then that's true too. I hope you're not asking for a comprehensive list of servers with reviews about the people they tend to gather.
Redline etc, servers with a fixed combo, doesn't necessarily mean the drivers are elite, just that they've done thousands of laps on the particular combo, and have become pretty damn good at it. If they change combos they may become crap until the repeat till you puke cycle is closed again.
There, you're bound to have your derriere kicked in racing, not only because you are probably slower, but because they also think the road is theirs, and shall just punt you out when in their way.
In my experience, the better quality drivers can be found on less crowded and conventional combo hosts.
No, because then it would cause a big mess amongst the people that have been here since the beginning. Why would they have to pay more than the new members in the end? I can imagine already all the threads popping up and whining.
On the other hand, we have had and used a fine product for many years, so you could say that paying more is normal. With this you enter a logic that S1 was a game in itself, S2 the second of the series etc...Like a Gtr, Gtr2 for example. Which to be honest I'm fine with.
But it would invalidate the enormous excuse that has been used over and over again, that ''Lfs isn't finished yet''. So the whole product could only have ONE price for everyone, and this price was chosen by the devs from the beginning. 36 pounds it is.
And no, as I said earlier in the thread, 36 pounds doesn't sound expensive to me. It even sounds cheap. Especially for a product that has been so refined and ''beta tested'' for so many years.
I'm sure you'll appreciate the price much more when iRacing hits the shelves! I'm sitting here hoping that I won't like it, so I don't have to waste money every month (that is if it's indeed on a pay-by-month basis).
Well maybe in the Usa the coverage is done more by satellites, but in Europe at least, the detailed city pictures are from aircraft, I was shocked to learn it too a year ago, but apparently quite a lot of people knew this. That's why there are some huuuge quality differences in some areas. Go over New York, and then over Idaho. Why do you think there is that much of a difference?
Oh Kev, maybe they get paid for every giga transfered, but it sure isn't us. Limitless bandwith is a fact for many years and many countries. (I've personally tried 3 of them countries). For me it's just ridiculous to think about a limit in bandwith, just as its ridiculous for you to hear a limitless one.
Btw, these connections also come with a free Tv service, including Motors Tv, National Geographic etc, and free calls throughout France (fixed). If bandwith was really a problem I don't think they would offer free Tv streaming right?
Well I sure believe him...Here in France I've hit 300 gb in a month with my Orange 18 mbit connection. There was absolutely no problem! And it's cheap (30 euros a month). A friend of mine has even done 900 gb for chrissake.
I lived in Belgium when the adsl was unlimited ( 5 years ago?), and left at just the right time! Ridiculous limits now and the speed has remained unchanged without a price drop.
Hehe, I think many of us are at the devs mercy here, because no matter what price they put on S3 (which I'm practically sure won't be more expensive than the other stages), I WILL have to buy it. I'm not even going to think about it. Even if its 100 euros...200 euros, I won't be smiling but I'll do it. 5 years of addiction means something!
In the same logic, let's go back to wooden skis, because those new ones slide just too easily, and are too reliable. You don't need that much talent to go fast. While we're at it, lets also put a spoon with an egg in their mouth and if anyone drops it he's disqualified. Is that going to make the sport better? Or separate the men from the boys?
On one hand, I agree with traction control and electronic assistance, I don't like it either. It ''helps'' the driver too much. Paddle shifting doesn't in my opinion, it just lets them concentrate more on the racing. It's exactly the same thing, just on a new faster level.
On the other hand, F1 is about technology and always was. For me F1 is about going the fastest possible around a given track. That's why I don't like the recent changes supposed to make racing closer etc...The sport evolves, the cars evolve, isn't it logical that the way of racing and of overtaking will evolve too? I too like my show, but there are plenty of other series to see it. If F1 was only about driving, everybody would have the same car. F1 isn't about 22 drivers on a track, as much as you'd like it to be,it's much deeper and I'm sure you guys know it.
29. Do you know how to draw stars with 5 lines? Take a piece of paper and do it. Form the exact same lines with the ''wires'' you have even if they are loose.
33. (Found this by accident the 1st time ) Had to go back to crack it just for you: Saw the lines from top right to bottom left many times.
